Everyone has different ideas about toilet training, some say "you have to start when the child can sit' OR "dont' worry about toilet training, they will know when the time comes".... Well, I am quite lazy so I will take the 2nd approach!
Last week, one of Jaz's carer told me to consider toilet training Jaz during the day and they can also help. I was really surprised they offered, anyway of course I quickly accepted their offer and immediately stopped giving Jaz the nappy during the day. mm... I think I am saving 3 nappies a day.... woo hoo!
You would have to be fast when Jaz goes "toilet" b/c you only have 5-10secs to take her to the toilet otherwise you will have a mess on your hand.
Anyway so far so good, Jaz has only had 1 accident and that was during lunch time when she refused to get up! LOL.
Last night, Jazmine came into my room at 1am. She had wanted to jump up but I told her she cannot and she must go back to her Elmo Bed b/c her teddy bear is waiting for her.
She says "no, no teddy bear...... no, no elmo chon chon". After 20 mins of telling her I was tired and she cannot come up she still didn't get the message. She used her old excuses, "ma ma, I want water, or ma ma toilet or ma ma lau bei tai". I ignored most of her request except for the water.
Then I began YELLING, "Jazmine, mama is tired, I need to go to work please go back to Elmo's bed"!
After repeating myself for 50 times, she finally understood and picked up her face washer and pink teddy bear and walked back to her bedroom with her head down.
It was such a sad sight... and I felt so bad! I would love for Jazmine to sleep in my bed but she is a very messy sleeper and I would usually get hit in the face or kick in the tummy!
Now, you must be wondering where Eric was in this whole incident? Nice and comfortaable in he's study listening to me being the baddie! Grrr......
Anyway, lucky I made choc chips cup cakes yesterday so I will treat Jazmine to a couple b/c she was such good girl and stayed in her own room till 7am! I am very proud of her!
Sometime last week, I had a craving for cheeseburger and fries so lucky Jaz got to eat some too.
When she was little, I introduce her to cheeseburger but she didn't seem to like it b/c she managed to tear the burger into pieces!
This time round, she ate the burger as a whole! I was very impressed.
Take a look at her cheeky grin!
I've been asking other mothers & reading books about what to do with "bedtime blues" & the common answers were to help establish a comfortable environment for your child, check stable temperature, set up a routine: toilet, teeth, books & bed.
Go shopping for a nice set of bedsheets and share the experience with your child.
Well, Eric and I tried all the above and little Jaz still comes into our bed in the middle of the night!
Really not sure what to do, I think it's a phase thing so I guess we should just enjoy it!
We have recently enrolled Jaz in this Gymbaroo class where she can "learn to play". mm..... I wonder if you really need to learn to play? Anyway, being a typical asian mother, I didn't want Jaz to miss out on anything plus, the Gymbaroo website says it will help your child to maximize their learning potential. GymbaROO can show you how!
Learn lots of insights about early childhood development, and have lots of fun with this structured program that lays solid foundations for school years.
So here it is!
A week after BB Lam's b'day it was Ba Ba Lam's!
This year we went to a "hot pot" restaurant and enjoyed all your can eat with a few close buddies!
Thanks guys for dinner.
In accordance with ritual, the b'day boy must guess what is he's present no need to say, without any clues this year Eric was guessing for ages!
Wow, is it really a WII??? What was this years budget??
Eric - Thought it was too light to be a WII! Thanks all for the Bunnings Voucher!
